Built
in 1681 as a School and converted to a large holiday home for parties of up to 18 guests. The house is set in an acre of gardens in a quiet
village in a central UK location, and is the ideal holiday home
for family
gatherings, parties and re-unions. Set up for both adults and
children with space to relax, rest, party and play.
Prices
start from £800 for a 3-night weekend. All bed linen, oil heating &
electricity are included. Pets are welcome at £16 each.
Catering can be provided subject to availability.

is a large Dining Room to seat the whole party in the
old school hall.

with electric range, a 6ft fridge freezer, dishwasher,
microwave and toaster. Cooking utensils are of high quality such as Meyer
pans. There
is a barbecue. |

There is a
cozy sitting room with an open fireplace. From October
to April bags of logs can be purchased
on site.

snug is a cozy nook for relaxing, chatting or reading a
book in front of the original fireplace. A range of
local history books is included including one where Diamond
House is featured. |

There is enough room for a cot in any bedroom.
Two cots are
provided and a high chair.

| There are 3
double bedrooms, the family bedroom has bunk beds in
addition to the double bed and easily takes a cot as
well. Both of the other double bedrooms also have space
for a cot. The green room and the family room have the
original oak beamed ceilings. |

There are two
adjoining rooms in the attic, both with two single beds.
There are also some children's
play activities provided and a TV which plays DVD's for the older
teenagers.
In
the grounds there is a games room with a
snooker table, a playground for hopscotch and
scooter racing. There is a playhouse with play
kitchen, tyre swing, sand pit, swing-ball and
badminton. In addition there's the formal gardens
with borders, and a field.
There
is also a children's treasure hunt to be used around the
village and a village guide which can be downloaded from this
website (Spring 2012).
There
is a really friendly old pub in the village (100yds), the
Royal Oak in
North Leverton (1mile) serves food where there is also a
village shop + Post Office.
There are many restaurants
and take-a-ways in Retford, some provide delivery. There is an
information centre in the house with recommendations,
suggested places to visit and contact details.

Diamond
House is a non-smoking holiday home.
Fireworks / Chinese lanterns are not allowed at this
property.
We provide bedding but not towels
(these are available
for hire at £4 per bundle).
Property
is available from 3pm on day of arrival and should be vacated
by 10am on day of departure. Please note extended stay can be
considered by request.
Accessibility
Disabled and elderly visitors will be
pleased to know that the gardens are flat, access to the house
is through wide doors with one small step on front and back
doors, and no step, but a threshold on the patio door. Stairs to 1st floor level are easy tread. large
