Location
Conveniently
located near the A1 giving access north to Scotland and Scotch
Corner, South to London. The A1 interconnects with the M18 for
access to Sheffield and Hull and the M64 to Leeds &
Manchester. The A1 also links into the M11 for Cambridge an
East Anglia.
Our
recommendation from the Midlands is from the M69 briefly onto
the M1 then onto the A46 towards Newark. At Newark take the A1
to Retford.
From
the West Country and South Coast, either M5 and up to the
Midlands, M42 and onto M69, or via the M25 around London then
use the M11. (The M1 links several large cities and tends to
be busier at peak times whereas the A1 doesn't really pass
through anywhere, so the M11 - A1 is better in our experience)
South
Leverton is 5 miles east of Retford. The road climbs the
escarpment from Retford through fields and woodland. After
about 4 miles a road to the right is signposted South Leverton.
This is Retford Road and enters the village after a sharp left
hand bend, follow the road to the end at a T-junction. At the
junction turn right into Church Street, then after 30 yards
Diamond House is set back on the right behind a white wooden
palisade fence, directly after a new Georgian House and
directly opposite the Church. Access is up the drive before
the house.
